Zambia State Insurance Company (ZSIC Life) Managing Director, Mr. Collins Hamusonde, this morning paid a courtesy call on the Public Protector, Mrs. Caroline Sokoni at the Ombudsman House in Ibex Hill, Lusaka.
During the meeting, Mrs. Sokoni implored the newly appointed Managing Director to devise mechanisms and strategies that will rekindle the public trust and confidence in buying ZSIC Life policies.
The Ombudsman reiterated the OPPZโs commitment to offering advice and counsel to ZSIC Life to lessen the acts of maladministration in its operations in order to regain its pride and position in the insurance industry.
She explained that the mandate of the institution is not only to take punitive measures against an erring state institution but to also offer advice on how to improve the service delivery system in the interest of the public.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hamusonde has assured the Public Protector that the company is working round the clock to dismantle the delayed payment of claims by June 2025.
He has requested the OPPZ to collaborate with ZSIC Life to sensitize the public on the role of the two institutions and the available complaint redressal mechanisms when one is aggrieved.
