Earlier today, the Public Protector Mrs. Caroline Sokoni gave a keynote address to the delegates at the second International Ombud Expo taking place in Gaborone, Botswana under the theme; ‘๐๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐๐ช๐๐๐๐ฃ๐: ๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐จ, ๐ฉ๐ค๐๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐๐.’
Mrs. Sokoni’s address was centered on the topic; ‘Navigating Recommendations and Enforcements- Lessons of experiences in Ombudsman Compliance.’
Zambia holds the position of Secretary General in the African Ombudsmen and Mediators Association ( AOMA) Executive Committee.
This year’s expo running from 29th July, to 2nd August 2024 has attracted over fifty (50) Ombudsman and other oversight institutions in the fight against maladministration, corruption, and promotion of human rights in the world.
