ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PROCURING ENTITY
The Office of the Public Protector is a fully established Procuring Entity (PE) in line with section 24 of the Public Procurement Act No.8 of 2020. The Procurement Unit was established in line with Section 32 of the Public Procurement Act (PPA), No. 8 of 2020 and reports directly to the Controlling Officer.
OBJECTIVE OF THE UNIT
The main objective of the Unit is to facilitate the timely acquisition of goods, works, non-consultancy services and consultancy services to enable the Office achieve its objectives.
PROCUREMENT FUNCTIONS
The functions of the Unit are to:
Prepare the Annual Procurement Plan for the Office and manage all procurement activities.
PARTICIPATION IN TENDERS
All eligible and qualified bidders are free to participate in any tender that is published by the Office of the Public Protector through the Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GP).
