

The Public Protector of Zambia, Mrs. Caroline C. Z. Sokoni, who also serves as Secretary General of the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA), yesterday joined fellow members of the AOMA Executive Committee in a courtesy meeting with His Excellency JoΓ£o LourenΓ§o, President of the Republic of Angola.
The engagement formed part of the final preparations for the 8th AOMA General Assembly, which is taking place in Luanda, Angola. Zambia, through the AOMA Secretariat, continues to play an active role in strengthening Ombudsman and mediator institutions across the African continent.
During the official opening of the Assembly today, 3rd December 2025, Mrs. Sokoni was honored by the President of the Angolan Ombudsman (African Mediators Association) for her invaluable contribution to the promotion and protection of human dignity, her steadfast respect for democratic values, and her dedication to the growth and strengthening of the Association of African Ombudsmen and Mediators.
This recognition underscores Zambiaβs leadership and commitment to advancing good governance, accountability, and the rule of law across Africa.
