The Session Recording Unit is responsible for facilitating public hearings, recording sessions, and preparing and issuing summons, search warrants, and writs. Its key functions are:
Receiving submissions from the public during public hearings to support decision-making.
Coordinating alternative dispute resolution (ADR) sessions.
Issuing summons, search warrants, arrest warrants, and writs to compel the attendance of witnesses, provide evidence, and ensure enforcement.
Administering oaths to witnesses, complainants, and representatives of state institutions appearing before the Public Protector.
This unit plays a vital role in supporting the Public Protector’s operations by ensuring accurate documentation and enforcement processes.
